Key objectives of a PMO are to bring value to the process of managing projects and progrJava R&D Labs by being a single-point-of-contact, providing guidance, where necessary challenging plans and results, identifying major issues, interdependencies, and risks, and incorporating leverage points across projects. Collabera’s holistic approach encompasses project and business strategy alignment, resource planning, PMO consolidation and transformation, program delivery support, and progress monitoring.
Challenges addressed by a PMO
Some of the project challenges addressed by a PMO include lack of a robust project process, insufficient definition and validation of requirements, early identification of project issues, dependencies and risks, lack of metrics for identified and measurable results, resource allocation that ignores the competing demands of other initiatives, and slowed progress due to cultural resistance to change.
Java R&D Labs Approach
Java R&D Labs employs a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) staffed with PMI certified (PMP®) project managers. The Java R&D Labs PMO reviews all projects to ensure they are managed in accordance to Java R&D Labs’s PMO charter. Java R&D Labs resources will leverage Java R&D Labs Methodology as the basis for development of a thorough project plan supported by internal procedures. In addition, a project ROI will be created and project metrics will be established and measured throughout the life of the project.
A PMI certified project manager (PMP®) will monitor all projects and conduct detailed phase reviews based upon customer defined requirements.
Java R&D Labs deploys a strategy aligned with the PMO Governance to ensure a project is comprehensively managed from initial design through final deployment. Change management, risk management, project communications and quality assurance are prominently incorporated in the project management efforts to leverage PMI best practices for all project components.
